Join us for "Didn’t I": a presentation on the closing weekend of our current exhibition, "I can’t shake the stranger out of you".
In “I can’t shake the stranger out of you”, Casey expands on the symbolist pictorial language of their quilt practice and introduces new possibilities with works in the Jewish papercutting tradition. Through these forms, Casey reflects on collective and personal Jewish cultural histories of England and Aotearoa New Zealand, and comes to terms with the fullness of absence.
For “Didn’t I” Casey will share insights around the themes and histories that inspired the exhibited works.
Saturday 11 October – 11am. In person or via Zoom. Casey will also be joining by Zoom as they are in the US pursuing their PhD.
“I can’t shake the stranger out of you” closes on Sunday 12 October.
