Children's event. Ngā Pakiwaitara
Nau mai, haere mai, tauti mai.
Following this very popular event on our opening weekend we are hosting another one on the closing weekend.
Come along and listen to children’s bilingual storytimes at CoCA with Justice-Manawanui Arahanga Pryor. This is an interactive programme including stories and Māori waiata, run conjointly with Christchurch Libraries.
CoCA is hosting two sessions on Saturday13th Jan. The first one will begin at 11:30am, and the next one at 1:30pm.
Justice-Manawanui Arahanga-Pryor (Ngāi Tahu, Te Āti Haunui-a-Pāpārangi, Ngāti Awa ki Rangitaiki, Ngā Puhi) He aha te mea nui o tōku ao? He tangata, he kōrero, me ngā wawata mō āpōpō. What is the most important thing in my world? It is the people, it’s the conversations, and it’s the dreams of tomorrow. You’ll find me lost within ngā kupu tuku iho o ngā atua me ngā tīpuna through the arts of kapa haka, pūrākau story telling or entwined within the art which is poetry. In Ōtautahi you’ll find me throughout Ngā Kete Wānanga o Ōtautahi – Christchurch City Libraries. We love to kōrero and and learning all the time so come in and say ‘kia ora’ to me and my manu friends as we head on down to celebrate alongside some pretty cool artists showcasing just some of their gems.
