Join us for the launch of Hannah Watkinson's self-published book, The Near Future in CoCA’s Ō Papa Ground Floor Gallery.
   
Drawing on a decade of photographic work and research, The Near Future considers the psychological landscape of the Buller region.  Exploring the key elements that make up the socio-political climate of the Westport area - coal and gold mining, cement production, natural environment and climate change, this photobook raises a number of fundamental questions about the future of this place.
   
The Near Future publication is distributed by Bad News Books and the associated exhibition is presented in partnership with University of Canterbury.
   
Copies of the publication will be available for sale (cash or bank transfer) and light refreshments will be provided.
