Century fire

Invisible infrastructure, hot roads, repellents and rain are just some of the themes present in 'Century fire'.

Taking cues from the intricate effects of the natural and engineered treatment of water in a city, Century fire looks at the broad relationship between absorption and repellent, extraction and infusion, and the important role these processes play in environmental balance.

The materials lay traces of local industry, new and old infrastructures and their presence amidst delicate ecosystems. Amalgamation plays an important role throughout the exhibition as it reflects the continuous makeup and synergies between materials running beneath our feet.
