27th Annual Wallace Art Awards 2018

Archibalds and CoCA present the 27th Annual Wallace Art Awards, one of New Zealand's oldest and richest art awards, with the exhibition featuring some of the country's finest contemporary artists working across various mediums such as Emma Fitts, Helen Calder, Imogen Taylor, Andrea du Chatenier, and many more.

The Annual Wallace Art Awards aim to support, promote and expose New Zealand contemporary art and artists. The Awards are now the longest surviving and largest annual art awards of their kind in New Zealand, with a value amounting to over $275,000. The six winners receive valuable residencies at prestigious institutions in the US, Switzerland, Italy and Russia. Many of the winners and finalists are purchased by the Trust each year to added to the Wallace Arts Trust Collection. This year 515 applications were received, with 85 of those selected as finalists.

The Judges for 2018 were Mark Braunias, Joyce Campbell and Linda Tyler for the Paramount, Kaipara and Vermont Awards. Richard Maloy, Simon Morris and Linda Tyler were judges for the Fulbright-Wallace Arts Trust Award. Andrew Drummond, Simon Odgen and Deborah Rundle judged the British School at Rome Residence Award.
